Macros: Suggested for Warriors Empty
PostSubject: Macros: Suggested for Warriors   Macros: Suggested for Warriors EmptySeptember 5th 2009, 17:02

These are various macros that I have come across for warriors, some of which I use frequently. Feel free to use these and post if you have any questions on how to use them.

INTERVENE ARENA PARTNER: For arena or bg use.
Quote :
/cast [target=Timestory] Intervene

or

/cast [mod, target=target] Intervene; [target=Timestory] Intervene

This macro allows you to intervene your arena partner without targetting them saving you crucial seconds where you need to back away from a dangerous situation or to quickly help your partner. The first version is if you prefer to have a separate button for this, the second is my preferred version; where if I press the ctrl modifier I intervene my normal target. I often use intervene in battlegrounds and in such situations it isn't a big deal if I have to spend an extra second hitting the modifier.

Just replace the name "Timestory" with your arena partner's name.

SPELL REFLECT: Switch to 1h + shield, then spell reflect.
Quote :
#showtooltip Spell Reflection
/cast [stance:1/2,equipped:shields] Spell Reflection; [stance] Defensive Stance
/equipslot 17 Gladiator's Shield Wall
/equipslot 16 Gladiator's Pummeler
This macro can be edited a couple different ways, so feel free to ask me how and I can show you. I chose to have this setup where if I am in Berserker stance, hitting this button swaps me to Defensive stance and equips my shield and 1h so I can then spell reflect. If I am in Battle stance however, it only switches to the shield and 1h, then spell reflects without going to Defensive stance.

Note that equipslot 17 is your shield and 16 is your 1hander. The spaces must be preserved as shown.

SWAP TO SHIELD BASH: Change to 1hander and shield for shield bash.
Quote :
#showtooltip Shield Bash
/cast [mod, target=focus] Shield Bash; [stance:1/2,equipped:shields] Shield Bash; [stance] Defensive Stance
/stopmacro [equipped: shields]
/equipslot 17 Gladiator's Shield Wall
/equipslot 16 Gladiator's Pummeler
You may notice this macro is almost identical to the spell reflect macro. It's uses are quite different, however.

It takes less time to switch to a 1hander and shield to shield bash when in Battle stance than it does to switch to Berserker stance to pummel. This macro is for those situations were you must quickly shield bash a spell.

Also notice, I put in a modifier for a focus target. So if you use the ctrl modifier you can perform this quick shield bash from wielding a 2hander on to your designated focus target without swapping targets.

FOCUS CHARGE/INTERCEPT/PUMMEL: For interrupting opponents without switching targets.
Quote :
#showtooltip Charge
/cast [mod, target=focus] Charge; Charge

and

#showtooltip Intercept
/cast [mod, target=focus] Intercept; Intercept

and

#showtooltip Pummel
/cast [mod, target=focus] Pummel; Pummel
These macros are all identical in format. The only differences are the spells casted. The purposes for each are more or less the same, where if you are dpsing a target you can use charge, intercept, or pummel to quickly interrupt your focus target much more efficiently had you been required to switch targets manually and back again.

Note that all my macros thus far have used the 'ctrl' modifier. You can replace this with alt or shift, if preferred.

CHARGE/INTERCEPT/INTERVENE 1 BUTTON: For use in Protection specs through Warbringer
Quote :
#showtooltip [mod] Intercept; [mod] Intervene; Charge
/cast [mod] Intercept; [mod] Intervene; Charge
This macro makes it simple to use any of your distance closing abilities with a single button in a single stance. I only use this for my Protection spec.

I will likely post up a couple more in the future if people are interested. Also feel free to share your own macros.

Last note: I am currently testing out ways to cancel my bladestorm early through a macro or two. I have some ideas but if you have heard of a good macro feel free to share it!

/equip [modifier:shift] Soul Cleaver

Woah, that's dope dude! I have used a separate macro to re-equip my 2hander. This will save me another hotkey. Good thing cause I felt like I need to consolidate some of my warrior hotkeys somehow. Thanks!
